below you'll find a list of frequently asked questions. be sure to have a read through the journal before you send us a note asking something. if you can't find an answer here, then send the club a note with "question" in the subject line and we'll be sure to get back to you as soon as possible.

what is the flower club all about?

the =flower-club was founded by =cdaile in the middle of 2005 as a place for flower art to be displayed. originally it was thought a 'little' club would be a good place for people to get together and display their work, gain feedback and generally expand your circle of friends, but the club just grew and grew and today has over 1,000 members!

basically, we're here because we like flowers. the club's main aim is still the same - we want to showcase the best of your work. all art mediums are welcome in the club, and we encourage everyone to enjoy and celebrate their passion by interacting with others who enjoy the same things.

how do i join the club

joining this club is simple. just add us to your +devwatch list and you're in. if you want extra information or confirmation sent to you, then just send us a note with "join club" in the subject line and we'll add you to the friends list. notes may take a few days to be answered but we'll do our best to get to them as soon as possible. once you've been added as a member we ask that you consider adding us to your 'friends/clubs' journal, list or signature if you have one; or you can use our stamp.

how do i submit work to the club?

the basic answer:
due to overwhelming submissions we are now limiting member submissions to 1 deviation per month. please, be selective with what you submit. if people like your work, they will look through your gallery. when you send us a note with "submission" in the subject line and the link to the deviation in your gallery, we'll review it and consider adding it as soon as possible. please note though, we tend to get a lot of submissions, so please be patient with us as we get through all them all!

can i update a previous submission to the club?

yes, you can! if you've submitted something to the club and you have updated the original work, just send the club a note with "submission update" in the subject line and the following details in the body of the note:

club gallery link: the link to your deviation on display in the club
your gallery link: the link to the updated deviation on display in your gallery

the reason we ask you to provide us with the link, is that the admin have a lot of work to do in the club and we sometimes need you to help us make things more simple. if everyone asked us to find and update their work in the gallery, it would take us hours. so we appreciate you helping us!

why hasn't my submission been posted yet?

there are mainly 2 reasons why your submission hasn't been posted yet:
- there are lots of notes in front of yours, and it's taking us a while to get to it
- we didn't get it or it may have been overlooked by accident

while the second reason is rare, it could happen, so make sure it's in your "sent box" before you write to us and ask. in the event that something is wrong with your submission or it fails to meet with our club submission guidelines, you WILL receive a note from us explaining the situation. notes you may receive if you've sent us an inccorect submission include:

- incorrect submission note (written wrongly) / no subject line
- if you do not send a link to a deviation.. we need you to pick what work you submit, sadly we don't have time to go through over 1,000 galleries
- too many submissions in the month (more than 1 link)
- incorrect link / deviation (full view or wrong deviation type)
- non flower related deviations (boats, tree, cat, car - these have all happened)
- we only accept submissions from members

we do appreciate your patience with us, but if you find your submssion isn't posted within 3 weeks of sending it to the club, please feel free to contact us via note with "submission query" in the subject line and we'll do our best to let you know what's going on.

who chooses the deviations for the clubs monthly "featured dev poll"?

deviations for the monthly "featured deviation poll" are selected by the admin from the club gallery. only deviations submitted within the previous month will be selected, which members will then vote on. what we look for in our selections:

- high quality image (nice camera focus, clean and clear images)
- artistic creativity (something different, painted or well composed photographically)
- presentation (borders, crop, angles, colours)

remember, we're going to select work that's going to be on display on the clubs front page for about 3-4 weeks, we want it to be good. featured deviations need to be work that everyone can appreciate as high quality work representing them and the club!
